The 2001 - 2011 series notes are like the preceding issues, except they now have novel serial numbering and an electrotype denomination has been added to the watermark. The 50-, 100-, and 200-kwacha notes have holographic stripes added, too. The 500-kwacha denomination is new to this series, and the 5-kwacha denomination has been dropped.
