Omschrijving

Following Japan’s surrender on 15 August 1945, the British Military Administration in Hong Kong resumed the issue of local currency with the following notes featuring a portrait of King George VI. The pre-war rate of 16 dollars = 1 pound was restored and Japanese notes were exchanged at a rate of 100 yen = 1 dollar. On 6 September 1945, all yen notes were demonetized.
