Rötger Werner Friedrich Wilhelm Feldmann alias Brösel, Comic Artist designed the share. At the end of 1995, the roller coaster publishing house was converted into the joint-stock company Achterbahn AG Buch-, Musik- und Filmverlag and in October 1997 it was listed on the stock exchange in what was then the Neuer Markt segment. The share price at the time of issue was 75 Deutschmarks, and the issue was 65 times oversubscribed. In 1999, the turnover of the roller coaster AG was the equivalent of 14.5 million euros. The market price peaked in August 1999 at 84 Deutschmarks per share, which corresponded to a company value of 33.6 million DM for 400,000 shares. In the fall of 2002, the company filed for insolvency at the local court in Kiel. In 2001, the company was in the red after there were high licensing expenses for Harry Potter merchandising products, which could not be sold sufficiently. In 2003 the company went bankrupt. Some of the individual companies of the AG, such as Nieswand Druck and the Achterbahn Verlag, were continued as GmbHs.
